EDF Renewables and EDF International Division become EDF power solutions, strengthening efficiency and brand clarity of their international activities

Taipei, 18 June 2025 – EDF Renewables and the EDF Group International Division join forces into EDF power solutions, an entity intended to strengthen the efficiency and clarity of their international activities. Led by Béatrice Buffon, Group Senior Executive Vice-President in charge of EDF power solutions, this merger forms part of EDF Group’s corporate plan, “Ambitions 2035”.

EDF power solutions, an entity of EDF Group, has a gross installed capacity of 31 GW in its low-carbon electricity generation portfolio in operation worldwide. It will rely on EDF’s expertise and the technological, commercial and geographical synergies between the two entities to design innovative and efficient offers, combining several technologies and conceived as part of a global approach to ensure the decarbonisation and efficiency of local electricity systems. 

With 10,000 employees in 25 markets, EDF power solutions offers a wide range of technologies for low-carbon electricity generation (wind, solar, hydropower, biomass), the reinforcement and flexibility of electricity systems (network, battery, pumped-storage, hydropower, low-carbon thermal, hybrid solutions, etc.) and the reduction of its customers’ carbon footprint (distributed solar and storage, mini-grids, electric mobility, etc.). 

EDF entered the local market in 2022 now becomes EDF power solutions Taiwan. It continues to develop its two key offshore wind projects, Wei Lan Hai Changhua Offshore Wind Project (440MW) awarded in 2023 and Wei Lan Hai Miaoli Offshore Wind Project (>1000MW).

As a responsible player in the energy transition and in line with EDF Group practice, EDF power solutions is committed to applying the best international health and safety standards and to integrating environmental and social factors into the design phase of its projects in order to control their impact throughout the operating life of assets.
